What is a Data Service Standard?

Data Service Standards explain what good looks like in the design, delivery and quality of an analytics/data service and set expectations on ways of working. They have proven to be a cheap, powerful lever to change and align behaviour, help organizations publicly demonstrate leadership, reduce complexity, and prevent wasteful expenditure. You can find out more by reading this blog post: https: //public.digital/2023/03/13/the-city-of-arlingtons-data-service-standard.

What will I learn/achieve during this Sprint?

At the end of this Sprint you will understand what Data Service Standards are and the value they can generate for you and your city. You will have created a draft Data Service Standard for your city, developed a plan to measure, launch and ‘go live’ with the standard, and identified ways to iterate and scale the standard and its impact.
This will put you on the path to achieving WWC criteria DM9 (Data Management).
