OVERVIEW
During this workshop, delivered in two sessions over two weeks, your team will develop a Theory of Change for a program running in your city.
A Theory of Change helps your team clarify what your program is trying to achieve and how you expect to get there. It connects what your program does with the changes you expect to see along the way, while making explicit the assumptions that need to hold for those changes to happen.
Over the two sessions, your team will work together to:
-
Define the change you want to achieve and who you expect to benefit.
-
Map the pathway to that change, connecting your program's resources and activities to its immediate results and longer-term outcomes.
-
Identify key assumptions and risks that could influence whether the program works as expected.
-
Bring these elements together into a draft Theory of Change that your team can review, refine, and use.
The Theory of Change you develop can serve as a practical tool to guide your strategy and priorities, decide what to measure and monitor, or identify questions and assumptions to explore through evaluation.
You'll leave with: A completed Theory of Change for a city project, plus reusable templates you can apply to future projects.
SESSION DATES & TIMES
All dates and times are in Eastern Time (ET).
Supports: Foundational work toward EVAL2 and LC6.
