Honing Performance Measures

Do you ever look at your city’s performance measures and wonder, “Are these the right things to measure? How do we know if they are effective? How are other cities pursuing performance measurement?”

In this single intensive session, cities will share their performance measurement challenges and opportunities, get ideas from peers, and evaluate their approach against best practices. Cities will also meet individually with an instructor after the class to follow-up on specific questions about the content and their city’s context. Please provide information about your city's current performance measurement efforts as part of sign-up form.

Come ready to share your thoughts on your city’s performance measurement efforts and offer feedback to other cities.

This course will put you on the path to achieving the following WWC Criteria:

PA1: Your local government identifies strategic goals, aligns a diverse set of measures with those goals, and uses data to evaluate progress toward them.

Must meet 2 of 2 | Timebound: Varies | Required for Certification

•PA1.1: Your local government documents its key citywide priorities and/or goals (e.g., strategic plan, visioning statement, etc.).
•PA1.2: Your local government has assigned targets, metrics, and a timeframe for measuring progress toward the achievement of a publicly stated strategic goal(s).
