RCT Sprint

Starts:  Aug 30, 2023 02:00 PM (ET)
Ends:  Nov 15, 2023 03:00 PM (ET)

“Simple RCT Sprint” is an intensive, 11-week course where you can learn the basic principles of evaluation and apply them to your own real-world challenge. In this hands-on course, participants design, execute, and evaluate a randomized controlled trial of an email or text message within their city department.

In the last RCT sprint course:
-The City of Glendale tested a more visually appealing version of their employee newsletter compared to the current version -- they saw higher engagement with the new email format!
-The City of Indianapolis ran a randomized controlled trial to determine if changing the sender of an email impacted the open rates.
-The City of San Antonio tested the effect of including a prize incentive in the invitation email for a neighborhood meeting to encourage attendance

We recommend allowing 4 hours a week to participate in the course. The course runs for 11 weeks and consists of:
-Weekly instructor-led webinars (typically 1 hour per week)
-Weekly assignments (course participants spend approximately 3 hours/week on assignments)
-1-on-1 coaching calls with a BIT advisor over the duration of the course
